After the initial installation on Tuesday, May 6, the next day was spent on the connection of the winding and the wiring. When Dave McCahan and Richard Alford left Wednesday evening only a few bass pipes were in place, with the support wires run.

Then on Thursday, May 8, they were able to get all the pipes in place. Richard made three pictures of the Trompette that day:

This is a close-up of the Trompette. The colors are reflections from the stained glass windows; the pipes are actually silver color.

From the chancel looking back, and the scaffold is still in place. This picture was made during the rain that day, so there was little light other than the fluorescent fixtures.

And here we’re looking up under the Trompette. Again the colors are not true, a lot is reflected light. I was pleased to see that the support structure is not too visible; the pipes really catch your eye. The longest pipes do project past the gallery rail, so as you come in and look up, you can see them.
